1

Summary

Major credit card company holds its first-ever virtual annual Latin American meeting. All keynote sessions will be streamed live from a production studio, while all breakout sessions will be pre-recorded. All content needs to be available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

2

Background

  • Client normally holds its annual meeting in person, in a major U.S. or Latin American city.
  • UniVerse has been its language interpretation and translation partner.
  • In 2020, the event was streamed 100% virtually, but there were live events, such as all keynote presentations, from a studio.

Goals / Challenges

1

Set up interpretation equipment and interpreters at a studio to interpret the live presentations being streamed from the production studio to the conference attendees viewing online from the United States and Latin America. Interpreters and techs must go in person to the studio and must maintain all social distancing requirements while providing the services.

2

Over 40 pre-recorded breakout sessions needed to be simultaneously interpreted into all languages of the conference so that conference attendees could watch them during the event and also post-event on-demand.

Solutions

UniVerse set up all equipment following social distancing requirements and connected a bridge to link the on-site interpretation sound to the streamed content.

For the pre-recorded content: MP4 videos were received by UniVerse and MP3 audio was returned to the post-production staff members in the foreign languages. After the foreign language audio was laid over the original videos, the final product was sent to UniVerse for final review.
